Privacy Policy

Family Cards: Guess & Reveal — last updated 19 August 2026

The short version: everything you type into Family Cards stays on your iPhone. The game sends no names, no answers, and no scores anywhere. It does send anonymous crash reports and anonymous counts of which buttons get tapped, so the game can be fixed and improved.

What stays on your device

All of this is stored only on your iPhone, and none of it ever leaves it:

Player names and the animal emoji you pick for each player
Scores and round results
Which question cards you have already seen
Your running totals — time played and questions answered

There is no account to create and no server holding a copy. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What is sent, and to whom

Family Cards uses two services. Neither one receives anything you typed.

Sentry — crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an error, Sentry receives a technical report: the type of error, where in the code it happened, your iOS version, and your device model. This is used only to fix bugs. Sentry stores this data in the European Union. Their privacy policy is at sentry.io/privacy.

TelemetryDeck — anonymous usage counts

TelemetryDeck receives anonymous events such as “a game was started”, “a round finished”, “the deck picker button was tapped”, along with counts like how many players were in the game and how many rounds it ran. It is used to see which parts of the game people actually use and which question decks to build next.

TelemetryDeck is built to be anonymous by design: it identifies a device with a one-way hash that cannot be reversed back to you, and it stores data in the European Union. Their privacy policy is at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

What is never sent

Player names — not to Sentry, not to TelemetryDeck, not anywhere
The answers anyone gives during a game
Your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera — the app never asks for access to any of them
Your email address, phone number, or any way to identify you personally

Tracking and advertising

Family Cards does not track you. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, no third-party ad networks, and no data is shared with data brokers or used to build a profile of you. The app never shows the “Ask App Not to Track” prompt, because there is nothing to ask about.

Children

Family Cards is made for families to play together, and children are expected to use it. The app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is no chat, no messaging, no user accounts, no user-generated content that leaves the device, and no way for anyone outside the room to contact a player through the game.

Your rights

Because the game holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct, or delete on request. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your iPhone.

If you would rather the anonymous crash and usage reports were not sent at all, email us and we will explain your options for the version you are running.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
